KidSpace Library Associate 

Do you love working with children? Are you able to juggle multiple tasks and thrive on change? Do you love interacting with class groups and telling people about new learning opportunities? KidSpace at our Main Library has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual with excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills to be part of our team. We currently have 2 positions available. Please refer to the schedules below.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • General customer service and experience working with children required
  • Knowledge and experience with basic computer applications required
  • Previous library experience preferred
  • Spanish language skills preferred


18 hours per week (schedules are subject to change)

Monday: 8:30am-1pm                                                 Tuesday: 4pm-9pm                

Wednesday: 4pm-8:30pm                                           Wednesday: 4pm-9pm

Fridays: 8:30am-1:30pm                                             Every Saturday: 9am-6pm

Every other Saturdays: 8:30-5


Hourly Rate:  $17.28 per hour

Customer Relations Clerk 

Gail Borden Public Library has a part-time position available in our fast-paced Customer Relations Department at our Main Library facility.  The individual for this position must have excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to problem-solve and analyze customer needs, and enjoy providing top-notch service to library customers.

Primary job duties include:

  • Performing library material check-in and check-outs, renewals, holds, and customer library card registrations in accordance with established library policies and procedures
  • Providing information to customers, answering questions, and being proactive with offering assistance in a friendly and professional manner
  • Using technology and digital resources to assist patrons with electronic platforms

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A real “People Person”, enthusiastic, caring, friendly, and empathetic
  • A team player who thinks quickly on their feet as decisions need to be made
  • A self-starter with the initiative and courage to propose new ideas


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some knowledge of library clerical procedures and practices
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Basic math skills and ability to alphabetize
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred


18 hours per week – combination of days, nights and weekend hours.

Hourly Rate:  $13.16 per hour
