Local athletes inducted in the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame will share how they “got in the game” with summer readers at Gail Borden Library’s finale for the 2008 summer reading program, “Get in the Game, Read!” The program will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 9 in the library’s community rooms. |

 Literacy Day - A library card earns a half price admission ( $5) to the Bandits , the Womens Professional Softball Team, on Sunday, August 17. Come into the library and sign up for a chance to be a guest announcer or take part in on-field promotions. The Bandits play at Judson College. The game is a 3:05 start.
