My GBPL Account Sign-up Information

Five reasons to sign-up for a My GBPL account:

The new catalog includes a new My GBPL account option. Here are some benefits of signing up:

Card Number Image

The username that you create for your My GBPL account can be easier to remember than the 14-digit library card number assigned to you. This can speed up the login process going forward. [Note: it is possible to change your username at a later date if you change your mind about your first choice.]

The One Click Holds feature allows you to skip the step of selecting a pickup location when placing holds. To set this up, login and then go to: My Settings > Holds and Pickup Location. Select your preferred pickup location, turn the Single-Click Holds ON and then Save Changes. Once this is set, each hold you place will only require one click.

My Collections Shelves Image

The My Collections section of your account provides you with “Shelves” for organizing titles for future reading, viewing, etc. and for those that you have already read, seen or heard. You can also create lists of your favorite titles or upcoming bookclub picks to share with others.

Reading History Image

The Borrowing History feature can maintain a list of items you have checked out and highlights items that you returned recently. [Note: If you already have Reading History enabled for your account in the current catalog, that information will be accessible via the new catalog.]

User Comment Image

You will be able to add your own ratings, comments, summaries, tags and/or videos to any title in the catalog even if you haven't borrowed it from our library. You can boost a favorite title or caution against one that disappointed you. Your contributions result in a better catalog for all in “The Commons" which includes several public libraries in the US and Canada.
