Library Closings

November 29, 2025

The Rakow Branch and South Elgin Branch will close early at Noon and the Main Library will close early at 1 pm due to inclement weather. 

Passport services is closed. Please access our 24/7 eLibrary here. 
We anticipate the Library District will reopen Sunday, November 30 with regular operating hours.

Gail Borden Library recognizes the following holidays and will be closed: 

  • New Year’s Day

  • Easter

  • Memorial Day (Sunday & Monday)

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day (Sunday & Monday)

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas Eve 

  • Christmas Day 

  • New Year’s Eve
