ELGIN, IL — The Gail Borden Public Library is hosting its highly anticipated Community Job Fair on Tuesday, September 10, at noon. This event, held annually at the Main Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., is a prime opportunity for job seekers to connect directly with top employers and valuable career resources.
This year's job fair will feature more than 30 well-known and local employers, including the City of Elgin, Elgin Community College, Illinois Department of Human Services and School District U-46. Attendees can network, explore diverse career paths and gain valuable insights directly from hiring managers.
In addition to meeting potential employers, job seekers can also receive one-on-one assistance from key support organizations. Representatives from the Illinois Department of Employment Security and workNet Batavia will be on-site to provide guidance on job and career searches.
Attendees who need help polishing their resume can also take advantage of the Library's ongoing "Career Coach in the Library" program, which offers personalized resume assistance with professionals from workNet Batavia. This service is available the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Main Library.
"The Annual Community Job Fair is a vital opportunity for our community of job seekers and those looking to build their careers," said Rebecca Lapinski, the Library’s Business & Career Services Librarian. "Our goal is to provide a comprehensive event that not only connects people with jobs but also empowers them with the tools and resources they need to succeed."
