Gail Borden Library Unveils Limited-Edition Dinosaur Card to Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month

ELGIN, IL – (August 26, 2025) – The Gail Borden Public Library is kicking off Library Card Sign-Up Month this September with a limited-edition dinosaur library card to all new customers. This new card design coincides with the Library's exciting upcoming exhibit, Dinosaur Explorer, which opens to the public on September 20.
"The library is a place where you can explore new worlds and discover new things, and a library card is your key," said Natalie Kiburg, Division Chief of Public Relations for the Gail Borden Public Library. "We are really excited to share this special dinosaur-themed card because it celebrates our past and future dinosaur exhibits, but also serves as a fun reminder of all the incredible adventures waiting for people of all ages at the library."
This special-edition card will be available to new customers who sign up for a library card at any Gail Borden Public Library location and outreach events in September, while supplies last.
In addition to receiving the exciting card, new cardholders will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for "dino-mite" prizes, including LEGO® kits, puzzles and more.
Whether you're diving into a new hobby, searching for your next great read, brushing up on tech skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.
Gail Borden Public Library cardholders have access to a vast collection of popular books, movies, audiobooks, and magazines, as well as unique items like Wi-Fi hotspots, karaoke machines and knitting needles. Dive into a wealth of online databases, including free access to The New York Times, and take advantage of educational resources that can help students and adults succeed with lifelong learning.
Visit any Library location this September to snag this exciting card before it’s extinct!
