Reading - In 2013, the community galvanized around the Gail Borden Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “Reading is So Delicious.” With the support of many people and organizations, almost 4,000 young people finished the program. This number is made up of children helping to prevent summer learning loss and this number doubled in comparison to 2012. This community project earned the Hometown Governor’s Award. The Foundation supports summer reading on an annual basis because reading is fundamental to the success of this community. PHOTO – people with the sign and one or two carnival pictures.
