Where can I check out eBooks?
All eBooks and eAudiobooks can be checked out at www.mymediamall.net.

I can't checkout an eBook!

  • If your card is expired or if you have fines above $10 you will not be able to check out eBooks. Call the Circulation Department at 847-429-4690 to verify if your card is still vaild.
  • All 14 digits of your Gail Borden Library card are required to sign into My Media Mall.

How many eBooks can I check out at once?

You can have 5 items checked out at My Media Mall at once.

Can I return eBooks early?

If you have a Nook or a Kindle you can return items early. If you are using the Overdrive app on a mobile device or are checking out eAudiobooks you can not return them early.

Nook: From Adobe Digital Editions go to Library View, click on the arrow on the eBook you want to return then select Return Borrowed Item.

Kindle: Visit Amazon.com and sign in. Click on Your Digital Items, click on Manage your Kindle, at the Action drop down menu to the right of your eBook select Return this Book

Do I need a PC at home?
eBooks: If you have a Nook or similar eReader or a 1st generation Kindle you will need a computer connected to the Internet at home. If you have 2nd generation Kindle or later model or a mobile device you will only need a wireless connection.

eAudiobooks: If downloading to an MP3 player or iPod you will need to connect to a home computer. If you are using the Overdrive app on a amartphone or tablet you will only need a wireless connection.

I can't find the eBook I'm looking for!

Due to certain publisher restrictions not all titles are available to libraries as eBooks.  If you would like to request an eBook please fill out the library's online Material Request Form.

What eReaders can I use with a library eBook?

Many devices are compatible with My Media Mall, including Kindle, Kook, and the iPad. View a complete list of compatible eReaders and audio devices at My Media Mall.

What software downloads do I need?
Some devices and formats will require a software download.

Nook & other eReaders: Adobe Digital Editions is a free, required download. You will also need a free Adobe ID.

MP3 Players & iPods: Overdrive Media Console is required to download eAudiobooks if you are not using the Overdrive App.
