Hispanic Services Program Assistant 

¿Te encanta ayudar a los demás/Do you love helping others? We are looking for a friendly, bilingual, and organized person to join the Hispanic Services Department at our Main Library location. You will be working alongside our five-member team at an assortment of programs inside the library and in the community. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and love working with Spanish-speaking populations of all ages!

In this role you will:

  • Support the day-to-day activities of the Hispanic Services Department which may include on-site and off-site program set-up, clean up, running errands, and additional tasks.
  • Perform clerical duties for program agreements, marketing, and data entry.
  • Translate Spanish/English information, as needed.
  • Oversee technology needs for in-person and virtual programs.

You will need to be:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with diverse populations.
  • Able to work a variable schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to take direction and work with various levels of staff.

 Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Must successfully be able to complete language skills test at the proficient level.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a safe driving record.

28 hours per week – schedule may include days, nights, and weekend hours.          

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour + Enrollment in IMRF Pension Plan + Excellent Time-off Benefits.
